For this project Rosie attempts to explore the question of ‘what photography is?’ by exploring memory, tradition and personal connection to an issue. Chosen are two images from her project ‘Tradition’ which explores the impact that overfishing for commercial organisations is impacting the wider world and places closer to home. Photographing family and fishing on the Tweed, combined with the conduction of research and interviews, Plunkett aims to bring awareness of these issues and also provide a personal perspective on a industry that is vital to so many but also puts at risk the health and diversity of our seas and rivers. Using both digital and analogue techniques to explore and display the effects of modern technologies on traditional methods, you are invited to look at photography through memory, method, and tradition.
